The Knight's Tour is a mathematical problem incorporating an 8x8 chessboard and a knight, which moves on a board in an L-pattern. The challenge is to find a series of moves where the knight visits every square on the chess board once and only once.
The stunt appears in connection with magic in the late eighteenth century when it was performed by The Mechanical Turk, Wolfgang von Kemplen's supposed automaton. More recently, an explanation appears in Corinda's Thirteen Steps to Mentalism.
Here the demonstration is presented as an advanced memory demonstration with the performer not looking at the chess board.
The Magic Palace was hosted by Dale Harney and filmed in Canada in the early 1980s.
